These are BENQ VAD6038 drives for the Xbox 360 with brand new lasers fitted. We are supplied with reconditioned cases yet we service these ourselves with brand new lasers and make sure that they work perfectly before they are shipped. You will find that other drives on sale are sold as reconditioned but will come with the same old faulty lasers.

Another useful feature of these BENQ VAD6038 drives is that they can be turned in to a ripping drive using a CK3 Pro or CK3 Lite and the 0800 firmware.

General Warning About Changing XBOX 360 Drives

With all 360 drives you need to extract the DVD key from your old drive  and flash that key into this new drive, you may also need to spoof the drive if you're not replacing a drive with the exact same brand or model. This is all not a simple procedure and should only be performed by people that know what they are doing with 360 repair and flashing the drive firmware. It is not possible to just take out the old drive and install this new one without flashing the key from your old drive in to the new one. We recommend you use tools such as a CK3 Pro and the X360USB PRO device for extracting and programming your DVD key.

If you feel that your games still stutter, or get open tray errors even if you use high quality media such as Verbatim, then your laser may need adjusting to match your Xbox's power output.
